Our lovely village, Silverstone, isn’t just the world famous racetrack. It is also a wonderful, friendly village to live and raise a family.
On top of this, there is an amazing primary school, supported by an equally fantastic preschool. Our two children are currently lucky enough to attend them, run by the most talented, supportive staff.
FOSS is an organisation which helps to raise money for equipment for the Silverstone Primary School, allowing them to buy up-to-date technology and apparatus for the village children. Silverstone Preschool is a non-profit charity and so relies on donations from outside the organisation. That is where my interest in FOSS and Preschool came in.

The thought of being able to play some part in raising money for this awesome organisation in which our children have both had the most amazing experience, was great and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
The first ever ultra, The Thames Trot 50 miler in Feb 2018 was looming and I saw this as a brilliant opportunity to raise money for FOSS and Silverstone Preschool. The benefit was both giving something back to the village and also deepening my sense of fear for the race to make sure I kept up my training!
Thanks to the support of friends, family and our fantastic village community, I managed to raise £800, split equally between FOSS and Preschool, for which I’m eternally grateful.
Obviously if anyone wishes to find out more information about FOSS or Preschool then please get in touch.
